Performance

Ballineen Blue Mountain has now proved his versatility across all disciplines.

He has been doing some super DRESSAGE tests with scores in the 70 percent. Judges comment on his nice even paces, and one judges comment "Lots to like about this chap"!

Brian has been competing in both SHOWJUMPING and SHOWHUNTER so far up to 1m but schooling easily over 1.25cm at home. He has had some fab Showhunter scores up to 85 and had a win at this years South Island Champs in Gore.

Brian has had an amazing SHOWING career thus far. Supreme Champion In-hand Horse at Canterbury A&P Show (twice), Champion Ridden Stallion at Canterbury A&P Show (three times), Champion Irish, Supreme Champion Irish, South Island Champion Irish and SUPREME CHAMPION ALL BREEDS at Canterbury Breeders Show.

Brian and I stepped out into my favourite Saddle Hunter ring during the 2015 season and he performed with perfection, never putting a hoof out of place and took out Champion Novice and CHAMPION OPEN SADDLE HUNTER at his first show. He finished that season in style at the McKenzie A&P Show winning Best Mannered Saddle Hunter out of a huge class. During 2016 he has won numerous Champions in the Saddle Hunter ring and hasn't been beaten in a Best Mannered Saddle Hunter class. He has taken his rider to Supreme Champion Rider, and has taken out a Supreme Champion Paced and Mannered Hack as well as numerous Working Hunter Champions. In 2016 we made the long haul to Hastings for NZ's Horse of The Year Show where Brian was 6th in Rising Star Saddle Hunter of the Year and 11th in the Open Title class.

In the 2016/17 show season, Ballineen Blue Mountain attended five A&P Shows. He was Champion Saddle Hunter at all five and was ridden by three different riders. He was also Supreme Champion Paced and Mannered at one, and took his rider to Supreme Champion Adult Rider twice.

Ballineen Blue Mountain has been EVENTING schooling over Cross Country fences with ease. He has also just become a fully QUALIFIED FULL WIRE HUNTER. He has once again demonstrated his perfect manners on the hunt field and is able to gallop when required and then come back to a walk on a loose rein. He has also been whipped off on numerous occasions.

In 2018 after a very busy breeding season, I entered Brian in a registered dressage tournament. It was his first outing off the property for many months, but as usual, he was a perfect gentleman throughout the day. He won both his level 1 tests and was placed 5th in his Level 2 test. We won two trophies, one for the highest percentage of 69% of the day.
